Nyte – An Audio Companion for Better Sleep

Overview

Nyte is a calming audio app designed to help adults sleep better by playing atmospheric sounds and relaxing music. Built as my first project for the Swift Accelerator Program 2024, Nyte provides a peaceful audio experience with intuitive controls to support restful sleep and relaxation.

My Role & Contributions

I developed the entire audio playback system using AVFoundation and SwiftUI, including features for skipping tracks, going back, and selecting different soundscapes. I also designed a calming and minimalist interface to reduce distractions and improve user experience at night.

• Skip, pause/play, and go back to previous audio

• Clean and soothing user interface optimized for nighttime use

• Built-in track list of relaxing ambient audio

What I Learned

This project taught me how to implement audio playback using AVFoundation, manage SwiftUI state updates during playback, and design an app with a specific user mood and need in mind. It was a valuable introduction to real-world app development using Swift.
