# From Learner to Leader

My Journey as a Swift Accelerator Mentor

After graduating from the Swift Accelerator Program, alumni are invited to return and support future batches — whether by reconnecting with new participants or stepping up as mentors. As mentors, we’re entrusted with guiding students through Swift and SwiftUI, the Design Thinking process, and their project development — and are even compensated for our time. I was honored to be selected as a mentor for the Swift Accelerator Program 2025 Challenge 1. It was a truly rewarding experience and a meaningful opportunity to give back.

We laughed, struggled, and learned together. As a mentor, I aimed to provide clarity and build confidence as others explored new concepts in programming and design. In return, I gained just as much — especially in leadership, quick thinking, and explaining ideas to teammates with diverse personalities and learning styles. It wasn’t always easy; some team members were less engaged at times. But these challenges helped me grow in patience and adaptability. I learned to meet people where they are, adjust my approach, and support them at their own pace.
